Let’s face it: the word "wellness" used to conjure images of cucumber slices on eyelids and someone named Sage teaching yoga on a beach at sunrise. But in recent years, health & well-being has bulked up, shed its spa-day image, and gone complete everyday lifestyle. It’s something we do for ourselves — and it turned into something every business must do to survive. Health is now everyone’s business, because all customers want to be healthy & happy.
Welcome to the age of Healthusiasm—a world where enthusiasm for health is redefining consumer expectations and reshaping industry standards. These aren't just wellness trends but Healthusiasm Trends—where health & wellbeing meet design, tech, branding, society and innovation trends.

According to the latest Mintel Global Consumer Trends 2025 report, consumers no longer compartmentalise wellness to gym sessions and salad bowls. They expect it to be baked into the products they buy, their services, and even their spaces. That means brands across every sector—from tech to textiles—are being told (nicely, but firmly): get healthy, or get left behind.
Consider the home. No longer just a place to Netflix, it’s become the new frontier of well-being. Translation? Your living room is now expected to double as a spa, a workspace, a gym, and a zen sanctuary. Smart devices that dim the lights, purify the air, and serenade you with whale sounds are not just luxuries—they’re survival tools in a Healthusiasm-driven lifestyle.

And what about beauty? The days of marketing a miracle wrinkle cream with a side of Photoshop are waning. Today’s consumers pursue a glow that comes from health, not highlight. If your brand is still pushing superficial perfection, prepare for a skincare routine-sized wake-up call.

Zoom out to the big picture, and things get even more interesting. The planet’s heating up, AI is making our jobs nervous, and life feels like one long plot twist. Ageing populations, chronic stress, and climate-related health risks are accelerating demand for resilience—and that means new products, new services, and new responsibilities.
The message for businesses? Health is no longer a niche or a nice-to-have. It's the golden thread of innovation, customer loyalty, and future relevance. Whether you’re designing ergonomic desk chairs or mindfulness apps, your mission—should you accept it—is to support the well-being of your consumers in meaningful, tangible ways.
Because the health consumer isn’t a passing fad. They're the future. And they’re not just changing what people buy—they're rewriting the blueprint for what businesses build. In a world driven by Healthusiasm, it’s either evolve or be irrelevant.
